Love this conversation. I think what stories have taught me is that we can tell a better story. My dear friend, Gareth Higgins, speaks of this in his beautiful literary magazine, The Porch. I so appreciate your connection to a beloved children’s story, Breena. So we can see with fresh eyes how we can do creative work in a way that is meaningful to us individually without the bounds of the label of work.

Haha yes! This is a struggle I have regularly. It’s a lot of unlearning the “work ethic” that was engrained in me. The need to be productive in a very specific quantifiable way is generally unhelpful with writing and drawing long form comics.
